As a designer, Jessie’s experiences span from collaborating with small startups and emerging technologies to large, Fortune 100 companies. She favors interdisciplinary work to match her diverse background—after pursuing a medical education for two years, she turned to a rigorous fine arts program that fed her love for process and critical thinking, ultimately leading to an interest in digital product development. After graduating as Outstanding Senior from the University of Arizona, Jessie cut her teeth as a UX designer in the aerospace industry where she gained an appreciation for complex challenges and elegant design solutions; an appreciation that she continues to apply in her work across a variety of industries.
Due to her history, Jessie naturally has a soft spot for engineering and health spaces—notable clients include Apria Healthcare, Matrix Medical Systems, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, L3 Technologies, Honeywell Aerospace, Alert GPS, First Solar, and General Dynamics Mission Systems.
In 2020, she was hired by her alma mater first to lead a 6-month UX/UI bootcamp and later to write new course curriculum materials around the same subject. She now continues to teach digital design as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Arizona. She looks forward to passing the torch of design to a new generation of user-centric professionals.
While not behind a screen, Jessie can be found growing things in her expansive gardens, caring for a menagerie of farm and foster animals, running singletrack trails through nearby deserts and mountains, or capturing her life with a small watercolor kit she carries everywhere. She happily lives in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
